History & Why
It's Special

In November 1620, shortly after arriving on Cape Cod aboard the Mayflower, a group of Pilgrims explored the area in search of fresh drinking water. Historical accounts suggest they discovered a natural spring in this part of Truro, which helped sustain the early expedition. Today, Pilgrim Spring Trail marks this historic landscape and provides visitors with insight into the early exploration of Cape Cod by the Pilgrims. While the exact location of the spring remains debated by historians, the site represents an important moment in early colonial history.

The trail's peaceful setting within the National Seashore also makes it a great place to experience Cape Cod's natural forest environment. Please stay on marked trails and respect protected park areas.
