The Rail Trail follows a former railroad corridor that has been thoughtfully repurposed into a recreational path, connecting communities across the Mid and Lower Cape. What was once an active rail line used to transport goods, supplies, and passengers now serves a very different purpose, offering a safe and accessible route for outdoor recreation. Today, the trail winds through forests, wetlands, ponds, and quiet towns, revealing scenic inland landscapes that many visitors might otherwise miss. Its flat, paved surface makes it ideal for biking, walking, and leisurely rides, transforming a piece of transportation history into one of Cape Cod’s most enjoyable and peaceful outdoor experiences.
Its mostly flat terrain makes it accessible for families and casual riders, while the changing scenery keeps longer rides interesting and enjoyable.
⚠️ Notice: Please follow posted trail rules and be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians sharing the path.
